Music Art
This is an organically evolving experiment driven by inspiration to create a mixed-media experience involving fine art paintings, interesting lyrics, interesting quotes, and of course, the music. It is cool for me to see this experiment evolve and I hope to shape a new experience with the combination.
Special thanks to my blip.fm community friends for a constant source of musical inspiration.
Poetry Art
This is an experiment to create a mixed-media experience involving fine art paintings, famous poems, and music – with an aim to shape a new experience with the combination.
Story Art
This is a mixed media exercise of creating self-contained original story fragments inspired by fine art paintings. These fragments may serve as a basis for short stories or novels in the future. Please feel free to add ideas or fragments in the comment sections.
As the Music Art category continues to evolves, I think those posts will also serve nicely for original short stories.
Writing Exercises
As part of my journey writing a novel, I started working through the writing exercises provided by a nice starter book by Anne Bernays and Pamela Painter – What If? Writing Exercises for Fiction Writers. Thank you Anne and Pamela…

Mags
Mags,
Thank you. I’m having a lot of fun as this idea evolves. Please let me know if you have a favorite song or painting that I could add to the mix.
Mike.
Dear Mike,
I got turned on to your art by ‘Twittering’– most people nowadays don’t think too much of it, but it introduced me to your art, and many other valuable people and information. Your art? Well, it is beautiful. A exquisite sight to behold. (Which I’m sure you’ve heard before…). You have both expressionistic and immpresionistic sides well balanced. Your art is inspired by Klimt, Renoir, Monet, and Degas, even Dali…just to think of a few. Your medium–perfect! I can only imagine what it must be to see it in person! I absolutely love your work. It is everything that inspires anything creative. Thank You for sharing it– one day soon, I hope to own one of your pieces (if you ever part w/ them..). Have you considered ‘ A Whiter Shade of Pale?’ I like Annie Lenox’s version better than the original. It is a reputed song about ‘stage-fright’, or performance… Not too many people know that. Also Salinger’s ‘A Perfect Day for Banana Fish.’ or ‘Pretty Mouth and Green My Eyes.’ out of his Nine Stories Collection is– in a word, interesting.
To be one of your subjects must be the stuff dreams are made of! Lovely work. Thanks for inspiring…
Fondly,
